Wandern in Achensee - Tirol, Österreich
30 May 2008
We decided to go to Achensee for the summer trip from the HIT department. Achensee is a lake in Tyrol, Austria, which is reachable within 2 hours with car from Munich.
We hiked to the other side of the lake to the Geisalm hut, have a picnic there and go back with the boat. The hiking path (Gaisalmsteig) along the hill goes quite high. There is even sign that it's not suitable for people with fear of heights.
Driving to Vienna and Linz
22 March 2008
Thank's to a friend, I got a voucher for a hotel in St. Agatha, a small town near to Linz. The first plan was only to stay there and only going to Linz for a day trip. But because Vienna is only 200 km away, we decided to drive until Vienna.

Vienna - Wien
Vienna is really a beautiful tourism city with many buildings from the imperial time. The 1 day visit was not enough to see everything. We just managed to see the St. Stephen's cathedral, the Hofburg palace area, the Volksgarten and the Austrian city hall. But we didn't forget to go to Cafe Sacher to taste the famous Sacher cake.
Tagesausflug nach Salzburg
25 December 2006
Salzburg is the Austrian biggest city, which is directly located on the border to Germany. From Munich, Salzburg can be reached within 2 hours with the train.
We left Munich at 9 am using the Regional Train so that we can travel with the cheap "Bayern Ticket". That ticket costs only 25 € for 5 person, is valid for 1 day for the whole Bavarian state and exceptionally until Salzburg central station.
The first place we visited was the Mirabell Garden. It doesn't look nice, but I heard it is a beautiful garden in summer, in which the garden is full with the flowers.
From there we took the bus and went to the pedestrian street in the other side of the river. Amazingly it's full with tourist. Although it was a holiday and all shops were close, the whole city was full with people.
