Ausflug nach Ammersee und Andechs
21 July 2006

Ammersee and Andechs are 2 places in outskirt of Munich, which are chosen for this year department trip. In Ammersee (Lake Ammer), we had gone for sailing and after that we went to Andech to have lunch in the famous Kloster Andechs (Andechs Monastery).

Sailing in Ammersee

Directly from the office we went to Ammersee (Lake Ammer) to go for sailing. We rented 4 small boats and 1 larger boat. I was in the big boat, therefore I couldn't take any full picture of it.

Well... for me... there's nothing special in Ammersee.... But we had a lot of fun.... Most of us went on the lake for swimming, which was the correct decision since the weather was quite hot.....

Englischer Garten - München

English Garden - Munich

Well it's my first time walking around the "englischer garten" in Munich. The garden is located not far from Marienplatz, which is the central of the city.

Fan Park - München

Argentina vs. Ivory Coast, 10th June 2006

Well... since during the opening match between Germany the Fan Park was overload, I just tried to go there during the less interesting match.....Soo... we decided to go there on saturday night..... to watch the match Argentina vs. Ivory Coast...

Chiemsee

One Day Trip to Chiemsee, 3 June 2006

Chiemsee, also called as Bavarian's sea (Bayerisches Meer), is the largest freshwater lake in Bavaria. It's one of the famous tourist attraction in Bavaria and it is located not far from Munich.

To go there using public transportation from Munich, you can use the train with direction Salzburg from Munich central station. The cheapest way is to use "Bayern Ticket", a one day ticket which costs €25 and valid for 5 people. To go to Chiemsee you must stop in the station "Chiemseebahn Bahnhof, Prien a. Chiemsee" and the journey will take about 1 hour.

From the Prien Station we took the tram directly to the harbour, which takes less than 10 minutes. Then we continue to go with the boat to the first destination, the "Herrenchiemsee" or "Men's Island". The main attraction there is the King's Castle (Königsschloss), which was build by the King Ludwig II, modelled after the Versailles Castle in France. The tour goes inside the castle is quite nice, however it's not allowed to take pictures.

TSV 1860 München vs 1. FC Saarbrücken

|

Allianz Arena - Saturday, 7 May 2006

This is the last home match in the Allianz Arena for TSV 1860 München in the season 2005/2006. Furthermore it is the most important match to defend their position outside the relegation place. I went there with Abhishek, who gave me a free ticket for this match. The tickets are for seats on the east lower tribune (Osttribune Unterrang) and would cost € 30, because they are very close to the field.
