Parade of the traditional Bavarian costume

On the second day of the Oktoberfest, there is a traditional Bavarian costume parade. This parade is called Trachtenzug (Tracht is how the traditional costume called) and it is held by the member of many traditional association, wearing the traditional costumes.

First Visit to Oktoberfest in Munich

Today is the opening day of this year Oktoberfest in Munich, the biggest tradinional fest in Germany. However today I went there with the other Indonesian in Munich and we didn't go inside the brewery tents, where you can really feel the Oktoberfest athmosphere. Instead we just go around the Theresienwiese and tried the roller coaster and another fun riding.

This is the biggest event which happens in this week in Bavaria. The Holy Pope Benedict XVI visits his homeland Bavaria. He wasn't born in Munich, but he hold the position as Bishop of Munich and Freising for a moment and therefore he has a special relation to the people in Munich.
It starts with the visit in Munich and I took this chance to go to the city and hope to be able to see him.

I missed the mass in the Marienplatz already, however I found out that the Pope is still meeting german politicians in the Residenz München, therefore I went directly to Odeonsplatz and walk there. Surprisingly it wasn't full at all and I even could stand directly behind the barricade.

I had this lunch before I started moving out some of my stuffs to my new appt. And since Abhishek was ready to help me moving out my stuffs with his car, I just invited to for a lunch. Well.. he's an indian so I asked him to suggest a good indian restaurant with reasonable price.

For the second time, I had a Weisswurst breakfast there. The taste is nice and their breakfast offer on Sunday really has a reasonable price. 50 cent for each sausage, 85 cent for the prezel and € 3,10 for the beer. Zum zweiten mal habe ich in Unionsbräu Weisswurst Frühstück gehabt. Die haben Frühstücksangebot, für jeden Sonntag, zwischen 10 und 12, kostet jede Weisswurst nur 50 cent. 85 cent kostet ein Brezn und € 3,10 für das Weissbier. Es ist ziemlich günstig und es schmeckt auch nicht schlect.
