Bye bye 2006... Welcome 2007...
I celebrated the new year together with other indonesians in Munich. We gathered together in dormitory of a friend had several fun games there....
For the 2007 countdown, we went to the Olympia hill (Olympiaberg). It's located near the Olympia Stadium and it's one of the standard place to celebrate new year. On top of the hill was already full with people, cause from there you can have a view of the whole Munich. We were just on the middle part of the hill. From there we just could see towards the Stadium.
Tagesausflug nach Salzburg
25 December 2006
Salzburg is the Austrian biggest city, which is directly located on the border to Germany. From Munich, Salzburg can be reached within 2 hours with the train.
We left Munich at 9 am using the Regional Train so that we can travel with the cheap "Bayern Ticket". That ticket costs only 25 € for 5 person, is valid for 1 day for the whole Bavarian state and exceptionally until Salzburg central station.
The first place we visited was the Mirabell Garden. It doesn't look nice, but I heard it is a beautiful garden in summer, in which the garden is full with the flowers.
From there we took the bus and went to the pedestrian street in the other side of the river. Amazingly it's full with tourist. Although it was a holiday and all shops were close, the whole city was full with people.
Hofbräuhaus, Bavarian Restaurant in Munich

I myself haven't been there before, but many of my friends told me that it's the appropriate place to have the bavarian food with the bavarian athmosphere.
The restaurant is located in Platzl, which is just less than 10 minutes walk from Marienplatz. Because of the strategical location, Hofbräuhaus is the most famous bavarian restaurant among the restaurants from all beer brewery in Munich. Inside the restaurant there is a bavarian traditional live band, which only plays bavarian music. There is also a souvernir shop and a smaller kiosk. |

Alan Chan, my Hongkie colleague @BrainLAB is going to go back to Hong Kong by the end of the year. Therefore he organized this dinner to introduce his hometown specialities "Dimsum". Additionally, he told me that this is the best place to have Dimsum in Munich.
