Jesenwang to Schwangau in 1 hour
Southern of Bavaria - 30 September 2007
Yeah.... on this day Christ and I finally experienced the probably once in a life time opportunity to join Capt. Jan to fly. After being postponed 2 times, finally the weather and the wind direction allowed us to fly. We started from Jesenwang, that's the place of the flight school, which is located about 30 minutes southern of Munich, where Capt. Jan already booked a Cessna 172 P, an old airplane from 70th.
We could take off from Jesenwang at 10 am after worrying for a while about the wind direction. The problem was with a wrong wind direction, 3 of us would be too heavy for the Cessna to fly over the forest during the take off.
Capt. Jan already explained us about the today's route to the south until Schwangau to see Castle Neuschwanstein and also the mountain Alps.
Not long after the take off, we could see the lake Starnberg and lake Ammer. The view from the air was just amazing. The landscape of southern Bavaria with several lakes, small rivers, forests and mountains seen from the air is really unbelieveable. It took only 1 hour to reach the Schwangau. We flew very near and could see the Castle Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau clearly.
Well.. the 2 hours were great. Of course it's not a cheap thing to fly, specially if you want to have the flight license. So... thousand thanks to Jan...
