Summer Trip to Ammersee and Andechs
Ausflug nach Ammersee und Andechs
21 July 2006
Ammersee and Andechs are 2 places in outskirt of Munich, which are chosen for this year department trip. In Ammersee (Lake Ammer), we had gone for sailing and after that we went to Andech to have lunch in the famous Kloster Andechs (Andechs Monastery).
Sailing in Ammersee
Directly from the office we went to Ammersee (Lake Ammer) to go for sailing. We rented 4 small boats and 1 larger boat. I was in the big boat, therefore I couldn't take any full picture of it.
Well... for me... there's nothing special in Ammersee.... But we had a lot of fun.... Most of us went on the lake for swimming, which was the correct decision since the weather was quite hot.....
One thing that I heard from our boat-man, is that in Ammersee you can rent the small sailing boat without having a boat driving license... but you have to proof that you really can sail for yourself.
Kloster Andechs
Around 1pm we finished sailing and continued our journey directly to Andechs. Andechs is famous for the Monastery/Abbey and it's Beer Brewery. You can enjoy the "Kloster Andechs - Bierbrauerei" draught beer and also taste the traditional bavarian food, such as "Schweine Haxe", "Rollbraten" or "Leberkäs". When we were there, we could order it together with "Kartoffelsalat" (potato salad) and Brezn ( pretzel), and of course with the Bavarian Süßer Senf (sweet mustard).
The food was very nice.... The Rollbraten and Schweinehaxe are sold in kilogram, and cost € 17,- for 1 Kg. And one "Maß" (big 1 Liter glas) beer is sold for around € 6,-. Well.. since the taste was really2 nice, the price can be considered as acceptable.
Wallfahrtskirche
Wallfahrtskirche is the church in Andechs Monastery..... However... we didn't really spend time to see it... I was just able to go in for few minutes and took several pictures....
Well.. it's obvious why most of the people go to Andechs... it's more for the beer... and Schweinehaxe.... but luckily I still went inside the beautiful church...
